The Accounts Commission published our Best Value report this week. Thanks to all your hard work our report is very positive.
The Commission is pleased to see the improvement from the last review and commented that the council is “ahead of the game in terms of achieving efficiencies, including its use of digital technology, with exciting examples of innovation within service areas”.
We now have clear priorities and a framework within which to move forward with transformation, building on our culture of innovation, as recognised by the Commission. It is important now for us to stay focussed on those priorities and ensure that our efforts are aligned to that mission.

In that spirit I have been out and about hearing about how Compassionate Leadership can deliver tangible results, discussing how collaborating on technological advances can help and most importantly hearing from our communities on a trip to Coll.
In all of these interactions it’s been important to listen and learn from others. I’m excited by the opportunities that lay ahead and I hope you are too.
