CEX update – election information

Last week, as the Returning Officer for Argyll and Bute, I arranged for the Notice of Election to be published. You can find the Notice on the council website.

A reminder that we are now in a pre-election period and there are requirements and restrictions for council staff during this time. For information and advice, please read our Pre-Election Guidelines for Staff.

Information is also available on MyCouncilWorks to help answer any queries you might have. You can also contact the council’s Elections Team who are available to assist on 01546 603264 or elections@argyll-bute.gov.uk

By-election, Kintyre and the Islands Ward 2
A by-election will take place on Thursday 18 July. This follows the sad passing of Councillor Robin Currie. To take part in this election, you must be registered to vote in the Kintyre and the Islands area.  Find out more about the by-election including details on how to register to vote.

Working at polling stations
Thanks to everyone who has already volunteered to help the election run smoothly, as always. The Election Team is keen to hear from anyone who would like to work at polling stations on Mull, Bute and Islay. You can find out more information and apply for different roles on our website.

It’s great to see your photos of the area. We’re using them to help promote Argyll and Bute as a great place to live and work. Thanks to Paul Evans for sharing a dramatic image taken at night in Oban.  You can see the image on MyCouncilWorks.

Please keep sending your photos to workingtogether@argyll-bute.gov.uk

Have a lovely weekend
