Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a restful break and are feeling refreshed as we start 2026.
Coming back after the Christmas break, it’s clear that the year ahead will be busy and full of challenges – and opportunities. My first week back has already been a reminder of the wide range of issues we’ll be working on together, from supporting our communities to managing complex projects and responding to new policy developments. This variety reflects the strength and resilience of our council team, and I’m confident that by working together as One Council, we’ll continue to deliver for Argyll and Bute.
One key milestone to note: the Scottish Government budget is due next week. This will set the financial context for 2026/27 (and hopefully for the longer term too) and influence many of our priorities. We’ll share updates as soon as we know more, and we’ll work together to make the most of the resources available to us.
