I was having a tidy up at home the other day and realised just how much ‘stuff’ I have. And then in the evening I was on-line seeing adverts for more stuff that looked good. So there I was, with stuff I don’t use and considering getting more.
Did you know, the council spends just under £3 million every year sending waste – stuff that we throw out – to landfill?
We all buy things, use them to some extent, and then dispose of them. If we reduce what needs to go to landfill, we can reduce what the council needs to spend on that – and help develop climate friendly ways of living in Argyll and Bute.
Personally I’ve resolved to do more to make more use of what I’ve already got and so need fewer new things, and to recycle well.
I would encourage you all to find out more about reducing, reusing and recycling and do what you personally can to make a difference. This matters now, for the future, for the council and for the area.
What is voter ID?
This is a question that is coming up more as we get closer to the UK Parliamentary Election on 4 July. As you may know, if you’re going along to vote in a polling station, you’ll need to take a form of identification with you. This voter ID can be different things, and you can find out more about that on the council’s website.
As always, if you have any questions or comments, you are welcome to get in touch with me at workingtogether@argyll-bute.gov.uk
Wishing you all a great weekend.
