CEX update – investing in Argyll and Bute

I talked about the billions of pounds of investment opportunities for Argyll and Bute a couple of weeks ago, particularly in the clean energy sector.  Many casual observers might be surprised about that but it’s just part of the story.

This week I met with Royal Navy representatives about the investments planned for the Royal Navy Base Clyde (Faslane). We have a long-standing partnership, working to capture economic and social benefit for the area, from the £22bn project currently under development.

Together with all the other amazing projects, our teams are working on, it adds up to a really interesting place to live and work in.

I love having the opportunity to hear about the full range of activity from the impactful local projects that mean the world to the local community, to these bigger strategic developments.

What’s at the heart of all this activity and the important services delivered every day is you! So I’m really excited that this month we’re launching our first council-wide employee sounding board called The Link which you can read about on MyCouncilWorks.

We’re always trying to improve how we work and with the Link you can take your ideas, projects, plans (at any stage) to the group for friendly informal feedback. The group is made up of colleagues from diverse roles and locations. It’s a great way to bounce ideas around and gain insights. If you’d like to become a member of the sounding board there’s info about how to join. I hope you consider taking part.

Enjoy your weekend.
