CEX update – it’s good to talk

Multicoloured overlapping speech bubbles

This week and next week are full of travel for me.  It’s a real mix of visiting different parts of Argyll to speak to communities, meeting with other Councils and organisations.

It also means it’s a really busy period. It can be too easy for us at times like this, to forget to invest the time to have meaningful conversations with those in the teams we work closest with.

I’ve been pleased therefore, despite all the frenetic activity, to have had the time to spend a day with chief officers to start planning for the next few years. I’ve also been sitting down with my direct reports having our Quality Conversations.  I really value these opportunities to take stock and talk about each other and not just the tasks on our to do lists.

We’re keen to find out if Quality Conversations are working for you and what you think about this important way of communicating in how we work together. Please take a few minutes to give your feedback in this short survey. It’s open until the 25th April so there’s plenty of time to take part.

Have a lovely weekend.
