As we all get ready to celebrate Christmas I’ve been reflecting on 2025. It feels like it’s flown by but it’s also incredible to think about how much we have all achieved together.
Looking back at the AB Recognition nominations is a great way to remind myself of just some of the amazing work that happens every day.
The themes that emerge from this year’s nominations are:
- Exceptional teamwork and crisis management
- Going above and beyond in service delivery:
- Professional excellence and continuous improvement
- Leadership and mentorship
- Working as “One Council”
- Innovation
- Compassionate, person-centred care
- Service quality, communication and customer engagement
- Kindness, helpfulness and support
And this is just a snapshot of the contributions made by individuals and teams every day.
I’d encourage everyone to think about nominating a colleague next year when you see them doing great work. Feedback from colleagues tells us that there is an emotional and motivational value of being recognised, particularly when nominations come from the public or different teams. They also tell us that it helps to foster a culture of appreciation, boosted morale and increased visibility of contributions that could have gone unnoticed.
And so, on that positive note I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas with the help of Alan Stephen, IT engineer. Alan is the winner of this year’s Christmas card competition – Alan thank you for the festive image of Kilmory.
Have a lovely time everyone.
