The post is fixed term for 12 months working in the Chief Executive’s Unit. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to gain experience in a Community Development role (LGE10), perhaps as a secondment.
The role sits in the Community Planning and Development service. The team works closely with community groups and organisations across the area, supporting them to make sure they have the information, skills and support needed to identify local issues and develop ways of taking actions to address them.
The post offers opportunities to get involved in a wide range of work and projects including training, evaluation, community capacity building and community engagement.
The team also supports and assesses the council’s Supporting Communities Fund.
Internally, officers are involved in a number of council working groups and during the pandemic have played a big part of the Caring for People response.
