What does community mean to you?
Perhaps it’s the street that you live on, your school community or friends at your local sports club. For most of us our communities are a huge part of our daily life and we want to see them thrive. For us, communities in Argyll and Bute are the focus of everything we do and the centre of what matters, reaching across all of our work.
To help us develop how we engage with our communities the Community Engagement Strategy Group have created our first Community Engagement Framework that aims to further support services in how they engage with different groups. Taking a One Council One Place approach the framework sets out best practice and guidance to empower teams to effectively engage with our communities – such as helping to gather information and gain a solid understanding of the needs and views of people we’re working for.
The framework is due to launch in early 2025 and in the meantime if you’d like support or guidance on consulting with community groups you can download our consultation toolkit.
