Creating a positive work environment – what do you like about working for the council?

Making sure, we all have the right tools and a positive working environment are essential elements to achieving great things in the council.

We want to make sure we provide you with a positive employee experience, as outlined in our updated People Strategy. An important part of this is to understand the things you like about working for the council, and what you think could be better.

We would love to hear your views in this short anonymous survey. Please give your honest feedback on the following:

  • Your overall experience of working at the council
  • What you like about working at the council and what you don’t
  • Your working environment and facilities
  • Dynamics and relationship at work
  • Leadership
  • The employment deal (pay, benefits, terms and conditions etc.)
  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • Learning and Development
  • Wellbeing
  • Workload

Your feedback will help shape actions that support our commitment in delivering a positive working environment. The survey closes on 31 May 2024.

Ways to complete the survey

What happens next?

We intend to share initial feedback from the survey in June. Following on from that, we’re looking to run a series of focus group meetings with volunteers from across all services. The aim of these groups is to explore elements of the employee experience in more detail. Look out for more information on how to volunteer.

Based on all the feedback, a final report with proposed actions will be prepared in October.

Thank you in advance for your participation.
