Employee Benefit Scheme

An exciting selection of NEW staff health and wellbeing benefits are now available to Argyll and Bute employees!

What is an Employee Benefit Scheme?

This is a scheme run by a specialist staff benefit company and gives Argyll and Bute Council employees access to various schemes such as leisure and retail vouchers and discounts, technology products scheme and cycle to work schemes.

The council has contracted a staff benefits specialist company called Vivup to run the scheme of its behalf.

Where can I find out more information about this?

If you are employed on Local Government Employee (LGE) Conditions of Service or on the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Chief Officials then you can find further information here.

If you are employed on Scottish Negotiating Committee for Teachers (SNCT) Conditions of Service a separate portal will be launched on Thursday 19th August and you can  click here to register selecting the portal ‘Argyll and Bute Council – Teachers’ from the drop down options available.

Please note that specific guidance in relation to salary sacrifice scheme has been highlighted by the SPPA and they have sought to distinguish between ‘approved’ and ‘non approved’ salary sacrifice schemes. They require us to flag the following to teachers: Where unapproved salary sacrifice is in place, it is the reduced salary that will be used in future pension awards. Further information on this is available here

Who is eligible ?

In terms of eligibility, access to the scheme is available to permanent employees or those on temporary or fixed term contracts that have an end date after the final repayment is due to be made. Employees will only be considered for a benefit if it does not reduce their cash earnings below the Scottish Local Government Living Wage.
