A range of service specific e-learning is hosted on LEON
From time to time the Training Centre is offered fully funded places for employees to undertake a professional qualification. These opportunities are offered to the workforce via the council’s communication channels when they are made available.
Modern Apprenticeships
Modern Apprentices are a great way learn on the job – gaining skills, experience and qualifications that’ll kick-start your career. You’ll learn real-life industry skills while you work towards a qualification that’s accredited by the SQA. There are a number of Modern Apprenticeship frameworks available at a variety of levels so there is likely to be one that suits your needs.
Graduate Apprenticeships
A graduate apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to work towards a degree using the work you do as evidence to demonstrate your competence. More information on Graduate Apprenticeships

If there is a requirement for project management qualifications, the cost requires to be met by services.
PDA in Project Management
This is recommended for employees who manage and / or lead projects but do not need the formal Prince2 accreditation. It is provided by the Improvement Service and the Organisational Development team will liaise to arrange places. Learners need an active project to undertake this course.

Health and safety training
We offer Health and Safety training to reduce risks and make workplaces healthier and safer for everyone.
First aid training
First aid courses are now administered by Education.

This 3 day course provides in-depth training for people who are required to be appointed first aiders within the workplace.
This 1 day course is suitable for anyone who might need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at work and covers the knowledge, understanding and skills to deal with a range of emergencies requiring first aid.
This 2 day course is to refresh the skills previously learned on your 3 day First Aid at Work course and renew your certificate for another 3 years.
To be eligible to participate in this course you must have an in date First Aid at Work certificate.

Prevent duty training
Prevent aims to stop people from becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. The Prevent duty is designed to help ensure that people who are susceptible to radicalisation are as supported as they would be under safeguarding processes.
It is for anyone working with members of the public on a regular basis, in local authorities and, in particular, Social Work and Education.

Engaging with communities
To inform staff of the Engagement Framework and how it can be used to engage with communities within Argyll and Bute. It shows you how to identify your level of participation and what engagement methods you can use.
It is aimed at staff with a customer or community facing role who will be undertaking or organising engagement activities on behalf of the council.

Introduction to digital accessibility
Provides a basic understanding on accessibility and how we can make our documents and web content accessible to everyone, including those with physical and learning difficulties. There is a legal requirement for us to do so.
We show you how to check our own documents for accessibility and then correct them if needed. Mandatory for everyone.

It explains the importance of having a formal mentoring agreement with your mentee and explores the benefits of reflection after each session.
