Heating system shutdown

Image shows a thermostat dial on a radiator marked at 3

It’s that time of year again where our building heating systems shut down for the summer months with immediate effect if they haven’t been switched off already.

We do this for a couple of reasons – to make things more comfortable, reduce costs and for environmental benefits.

Heating systems in many sites can be switched off remotely, but we do ask for the support of site managers to help achieve the wider roll out of heating shutdowns. Please ask for advice if you need it.

We may have vulnerable users in some buildings, who need extra heating. This will be left to the discretion of the site manager. If there is a cold spell, we can consider putting the heating back on. You can ask for thermometers for rooms by contacting Property Services on 01546 604005.

If you have any questions, please email energy.management@argyll-bute.gov.uk or telephone 01546 604005.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
