How to get to your employment details:
Either:
- Select the Dropdown Arrow next to the person icon on the top right-hand corner of the home dashboard.
- Select My Profile
Or:
- Click View profile on the top left-hand corner of the home dashboard.
You will be taken to the screen below:
- Select Employment in the top middle
You will be taken to the screen below:
The options you will be presented with are:
- My employment (Period of employment/Position/Department)
- Visa Details
- My Correspondence (Template Name/Correspondence status/Start date/End date)
How to view personal/current employment details
- When you are in My Profile and in the Employment section, you will want to focus on the My Employment tab at the top.
- In your version of iTrent, you will see the basic details of your employment, such as your period of employment, position and department.
NOTE: Your current post will show as starting from your original start date with Argyll & Bute Council. This is because your previous employment history is not visible within iTrent. It is available from the HR&OD Team if required by submitting a Service Request via the HROD Enquiry Form.

The details here include:
Job Details:
- Department
- Position name
- Start date (dd/mm/yyyy)
- Payroll reference (employee number)
- Contractual hours
- Work location
Note: Your work location is where your role is your base location e.g. Kilmory, Helensburgh Civic Centre. This is the place from which you normally work or if you normally work from home the place from which you would claim your travel expenses. Should you notice an error with this, please select “HROnline” and “Error in personal details” in the HROD Enquiry Form.
- Salary
- Work pattern
Your work pattern has particular naming convention:
It will begin with two letters – SW = Single Week (where an employee works the same hours every week), MW = Multi Week (where an employee has a different pattern each week), RW = Rota Worker (where employee works on a rota), LA = Live Argyll (where employee works for Live Argyll) NC = Non Council (where employee works for another organisation we support with payroll), CW = Casual Worker and EW = Election Worker.
It will then have the weekly hours/the number of days over which these weekly hours are worked e.g. 35:00/05 is 35 hours per week worked over 5 days.
The remainder of the naming convention is each day in the week and the corresponding number of hours worked that day e.g. M 07:00 means 7 hours worked on Monday.
- Reporting manager and job title
You cannot edit any of your current job details.
How to view Visa details
- Click on any of these and it will take you to the screen below:
NOTE: If you have a Visa that permits you to work within the UK then you will find the details here.
- When you are in My Profile and in the Employment section, you will want to focus on the Visa details tab in the middle.
- In your version of iTrent, you will see the basic details of your employment, such as your Visa reference, Visa issue date and Visa expiry date.
The details here include:
- Visa reference
- Visa type
- Visa issue date (dd/mm/yyyy)
- Visa expiry date (dd/mm/yyyy) (required)
