Onboarding for new employees

Argyll and Bute Council’s onboarding process has been designed to integrate new employees into the organisation providing essential information about the council’s culture, policies and information specific to their role. The programme has been designed to offer the opportunity to allow recruiting managers to engage with their new starts from the point they accept their job offer to begin the process onboarding and maintain ongoing contact.

Benefits of Effective Onboarding

The aim of our onboarding programme is to:

  • Improve Productivity by ensuring employees have the information and training they need to become productive faster.
  • Enhance Engagement by building a connection and engagement with the organisation by making new hires feel welcomed from the start.
  • Help to reduce turnover through a comprehensive process which makes employees feel supported from the start and are then less likely to leave.

Onboarding programme

The onboarding programme is managed through our online learning platform LEON. This includes the 5 step process for new starts and a comprehensive managers checklist.
