Image shows Pippa Milne, Chief Executive of Argyll and Bute Council behind a lectern at the election count

Live from Lochgilphead

I’m sending this from Lochgilphead Joint Campus as we work to verify and count votes in the election for councillors for Argyll and Bute.  It’s an exciting time and we will share results with you on our corporate Twitter page, and on our website.

There’s no podcast this week as I’ve been busy with my Returning Officer election duties. You may want to listen again to the podcast I recorded recently with members of the Elections team. There’s a lot of hard work that goes into planning and running elections in Argyll and Bute. I’m always really impressed so a big thanks to everyone involved. It’s lovely to see some of you in person here at the count.

Look out for a new podcast next week.

Award winning
Last week I mentioned awards and I’ve recently heard that the council’s Community Food, and Sustainable Catering projects are both shortlisted for a Local Authority Service Award – Response to Covid 19 at this year’s ASSIST FM Conference 2022. Congratulations to all our finalists.

I’m incredibly proud of so much achieved across the council. I would like more people to be aware of the excellent work you do. The ‘award winning’ page on our website is one way of doing that. Please make sure you have your achievements included there – contact the Communications Team at
