Argyll and Bute is known for its great community spirit, and this is something to be proud of and thankful for. Good people and communities that look out for each other are what make the difference, when you have happy times to share or difficult times to get through.
2022 has not been the easiest year, and this will be a Christmas and New Year, unfortunately, with worry as well as joy for many.
We all need support from others at different points in our lives. If you can do something to support others, please do it. If you’d benefit from support, please do take it. This is all part of belonging in our caring communities.
I’ve lived long enough to know that good times do follow difficult periods. Better times are coming.
I’ve also learned that at any time there are always things to appreciate. For me it can be fun with my family, or of course, having the privilege of being part of a council committed to Argyll and Bute.
Whatever this Christmas-time will mean for you, I wish you happiness. And for us all, I wish a happy, healthy 2023.
