There is now an amber weather warning for Storm Floris. The Met office advised that this will bring unseasonably strong and disruptive winds to much of Scotland during Monday – power cuts with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage, some roads and bridges closed, some damage to trees and buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs expected, injuries and danger to life from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties, flying debris could lead to injuries or danger to life, longer journey times and cancellations, as road, rail, air and ferry services affected.
If you can, please work from home today. The warning is in place from 10 am. If you are already in work and can leave and return home by 10 am to avoid the worst of the weather then please do so.
If you have to be out and about, please exercise caution and look after yourself.
