We are delighted to bring you a new LEON course Gaelic for beginners – continuing the journey as part of your Gaelic learning in Argyll and Bute Council.
You’ll learn some conversational language about where you live, the weather, days, classroom phrases. You’ll also discover Argyll and Bute place names and delve into the meanings behind them.
This course is suitable for all learners and can be completed even if you have not previously taken the Gaelic Greetings and Introductions course.
‘Gaelic is not only a vital part of Argyll and Bute’s heritage—it is also a key contributor to the region’s future. It strengthens tourism, supports the creative industries and plays an important role in place branding, helping distinguish Argyll and Bute within the Highlands and Islands economy.
With over 2,000 Gaelic learners in local schools and 70% of primary schools offering Gaelic learning opportunities, the language continues to thrive in education and community life.’
The Launch of this second course coincides with the Argyll and Bute Council Draft Gaelic learning plan consultation which is open for your views till Fri 11th Sep.
