This is at the core of impact assessments that seek to find out what happens when we do something new or there’s a change to how things are done. Will it provide more or less support to a community or individual? Greater or less benefit? Impact Assessments help us understand, report on and show how we’re meeting our obligations across all the work that we do.
To make reporting on our impact easier we have developed a new tool – an Integrated Impact Assessments. It’s designed for managers to be able to create impact assessments easily and also help us publish them Integrated Impact Assessments | Argyll and Bute Council.
In general Integrated Impact Assessments must be completed for the following things:
- Policy: new or reviewed
- Strategy or strategic decision
- Changes to service design and the way services are delivered
If you’re unsure about whether or not this applies to your work, the tool has lots of helpful guidance and step-by-step instructions to walk you through completing an assessment.
To create this tool HROD and the IT team worked together to create a user-friendly process that will help us carry out this important work more easily. A great example of Connect for Success and our work to continually develop, learn and use new technology to help us do our jobs.
