COSLA has made a new pay offer to UNISON, Unite and GMB trade unions, covering the period from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.
The offer includes:
- A 3.2% uplift on all pay grades
Key highlights of the offer:
- It exceeds the first year of the Scottish Government’s current Public Sector Pay Policy.
- It is higher than the current inflation rate (CPI).
- It represents the maximum that councils can afford in the current challenging financial circumstances.
- It is a strong, fair, and credible offer that underscores the high value council leaders place on the Local Government workforce and their invaluable daily contributions to communities across Scotland.
COSLA has urged trade unions to consult their members on this improved offer and to suspend plans for industrial action whilst this is considered.
