We’re facing one of the highest budget gaps in recent times which will inevitably lead to difficult decisions ahead.

Today we launched a four-week budget survey to ask residents for views on what matters most. We would encourage as many people as possible to give feedback. As you may remember, in this year’s budget, the Scottish Government announced an additional £289 million to local authorities. While this additional funding is welcomed, it is not sufficient to cover the additional financial pressures we are facing. We are currently working through what the settlement could mean for Argyll and Bute. This funding, will still not close our budget gap of £6.4 million in 2025-26 and £27 million over the next five years. Full Council will meet on 27 February to set the budget.
