An employee-led community group or network is often created within places of work to support people who share a common background or experience.
As we continue to evolve how we work as part of our internal transformation (you can read more about Connect for Success here) we want to empower employees to come together and make connections.
This is why we launched two Employee-led Communities groups in 2025 which are now well established.
Veterans’ Community:
For colleagues who have served in the UK armed forces as a regular or as a reserve. The council is part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme and is committed to the Armed Forces Covenant which includes setting up an employee veteran group.
LGBTQ+ Community:
For colleagues who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and others who fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella, and their allies, to come together in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Each of the groups meet quarterly on-line using Microsoft Teams.
If one of the groups is of interest to you please sign-up.
Help spread the word
If one of the groups is of interest to you, we encourage you to sign up and get involved or spread the word with colleagues who you think might benefit from joining.
If you have any questions, feedback or suggestions of groups you’d like to see in future, contact us on organisationaldevelopment@argyll-bute.gov.uk.
By participating, employees have the opportunity to contribute to shaping a supportive network that fosters understanding and collaboration.
Together, we can create a workplace where every employee feels heard, valued, and supported.
